Letters, We Get Letters.
Boy, do we. WME has only been up for a couple of weeks and already we’re getting virtual stacks of letters, all of which have a sordid tale to tell, but the bottom line is always the same: Ron Littlefield is the Worst Mayor Ever. Well, except for the ones from media who want an interview.
It all certainly makes opening the Old Mail Bag a daily thrill!
Some are hilarious, some are mundane, but this one really jumps out. It’s from Michelle at The Cupboard, one of WME’s favorite restaurants downtown and one of Chattanooga’s best catering services.
First you need to know that every Tuesday night is City Council night, and because all of the administrators have to stay for the meeting to present or answer questions, the city caters a meal for them. The Cupboard was chosen to do that and all was blissful-–cuz Michelle is a damn good cook.
Then Michelle made some comments on a local online message board about Ron and his woeful traffic light and someone sent them to Littlefield (rat fink!) and Littlefield had her fired.
In Michelle’s words: “I poked some fun at Mayor Little, his traffic light and how he has a lot of time on his hands on a local message forum and he's not real happy about it. So...we were contacted by the city council this morning and told our services were no longer required. Seems they were forwarded my post on the internet from the "media personnel at the Mayors office."
People, how many times do we have to say it, When it comes to Littlefield, you are either with him or for the terrorists, in his fevered little mind anyway. He’s clearly not out doing the Big Work of building our future, so you shouldn’t be surprised that he’s trollin’ around the net looking for people talking about him.
I went to the Chattanooga Message Forum and read Michelle’s post and after I stopped laughing (she called him a dipsh*t. Heh.), I knew Michelle was swimmin’ over her head—with a shark!
Well, if it’s any consolation Michelle, all those for free speech in Chattanooga will make a point of coming to the Cupboard and using you for catering events to make up for the money Ron took from you. Besides, whatever food they replace yours with won’t be nearly as good, so the Council will be eating crappy every week and missing you too!
