FARKed Again.

Ron Littlefield's lack of vision and gift for uttering really dumb things has gotten us more national, negative attention. The website www.fark.com has a blurb about Ron's idiotic comment about not wanting 'controversial' art. Well, here's what the guys at fark.com wrote under the title 'silly':

Chattanooga mayor wants public art that is "non-controversial" and that "cannot be vandalized." This is the same city that has a tow-truck museum, which begs the question: Why can't the two be combined?

Thanks Ron, pre-she-ate-cha.

First, no one on that art commision, that has done such an amazing job bringing beautiful, vibrant art to our city, has ever put anything forward that had gotten anywhere near offending your average Chattanoogan. Well, except maybe the cutesy kitty sculpures on the 2nd Street steps. Those were a little too "Precious Moments" for me, but whatever.

The sad thing is that your administration has been so uneventful, so adrift, so entirely without, that this problem that didn't actually exist, probably felt like a mission from God for you. The irony is, if you're so worried about 'controversial' art, why in hell did you hire Missy "Youthful Indescretion" Crutchfield to lead the arts program? (The "votes-for-job" deal with her dad notwithstanding). I'm not sure which is more offensive, the really crappy movies she made, and her truly embarrassing inability to emote, or the misguided, new age crap she now spouts at every opportunity now that you've given her this unearned platform.

God, if I have to sit through one more meeting where Missy gets all breathy about how the arts can heal every wounded child and bring rainbows and cotton-candy dreams to everyone, everywhere I'm going to fark myself right then and there.

Here's a mild sample, from the cover of Connecting The Dots, of the delusional things she says:
"Art is the true language of education."
Huh? That almost sounds intelligent, but then, not so much. No, Art really isn't the true language of education, dear. Art is many things and it can express many things. It can inspire or shock. It can please or taunt. It can be noble or naughty (as you'd know), but what you said--that just isn't so. The sad thing is that you think that collection of words is meaningful, deep even. Pretty much because your entire life, you've said and done things equally disconnected from reality and no one sets you straight. So allow me: Missy, sweetie, you say really dumb things. And you use the implied power that you've always gotten from proximity to power and turn it into actual power, and you know you do. Know this--people really resent it. Especially when you are in a room full of subject experts and you're going on about Rainbow Brite and My Little Pony. Stop it. I say that on behalf of just about everyone you encounter between 8 and 6 on any given weekday.

What's worse is that Ron Littlefield, Chattanooga's Worst Ever Mayor, has pulled money and personnel from CNE, an organization that truly made a difference in our city and in the actual, not imagined, lives of the people who live here and gave it to you to play with as you try to find meaning in your life. How long must the citizens of this city pay for your failed film career?

P.S. Your effort to brand the city's department of Education, Arts and Culture as EAC really sucks. The Arts and Education Council is actually doing good work in our community and they probably don't appreciate you stepping all over the years they've invested in their AEC brand.
